Here's what we've planned for the August Welcome Program

6:00 pm–9:00 pm
DAY ONE :: TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2009
Anytime between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Stop by the LinkUp Check-In table in the Dining Halls Atrium
4:00 pm–6:00 pmWelcome Supper and program overview for you and your parents/guardians in the Dining Halls “Old Kitchen”
You’ll be greeted by UNCG students and staff!
7:00 pm–10:00 pm “LinkUp” with multicultural student organizations in the Multicultural Resource Center
DAY TWO :: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2009 :: Wear your LinkUp t-shirt!
Grab breakfast in the Dining Hall using your Meal Plan before you get on the bus. They'll be open at 7:00 am.
8:00 am–8:30 am Bus loads on Stirling Street (in front of the EUC) for Haw River Park Conference Center in Browns Summit.
Departs promptly at 8:30 am
9:00 am–12:00 noon“LinkUp” with new classmates and participate in some activities to get to know one another
12:00 noon am–1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm–2:00 pm “LinkUp” to learn how to manage differing course demands and stay organized
2:00 pm–3:00 pm “LinkUp” to learn how to study in college and manage your time efficiently
3:00 pm–4:00 pm “LinkUp” to select a major and develop a course plan for your career
4:00 pm–5:00 pm “Keepin’ It Real About Student Success”—Get advice from LinkUp mentors on cultural resources and services and how to create a meaningful college experience
5:30 pm Bus loads and departs for Celebration Station
Dinner and outing
Enjoy bumper boats and go-kart rides at Celebration Station as you continue to get to know fellow classmates.
There will also be a Pizza Buffet for you right in the park!
DAY THREE :: THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2009
Grab breakfast in the Dining Hall using your Meal Plan before you get on the bus. They'll be open at 7:00 am.
8:00 am–8:30 amBus loads on Stirling Street (in front of the EUC) for Greensboro Cultural Center. Departs promptly at 8:30 am
9:00 am–1:00 pmCome with us to the Greensboro Cultural Center—a visit filled with cultural music and fun activities!
