Multicultural Resource Center

Program in MRCThe Office of Multicultural Affairs operates a unique space on campus in the Elliott University Center—the Multicultural Resource Center. It’s a place to learn, a place to gather, a place to explore—it’s a place where every member of UNCG’s diverse community can come to share experiences and build on common ground. It creates an opportunity to make meaningful cross-cultural connections and fosters an appreciation for the rich customs and traditions brought together by every individual who steps through its doors. Located on the ground level of the EUC, the environment itself is inviting and welcoming with lots of comfortable seating for studying and conversing. There are computers for internet searching and email checking. There is an ever-expanding library of cultural resources including books, videotapes, and a wide-ranging collection of magazines with new issues arriving almost every day.

Please note: some items require the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader, which can be downloaded from the Adobe web site.

Reserve the MRC for your own special event (PDF)
The Multicultural Resource Center is available Monday and Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm to the UNCG community for special multicultural events and gatherings.

artworkArt Exhibits
Two art exhibits are mounted in the Multicultural Resource Center each semester. These exhibits showcase the talents of artists whose creativity is rooted in cultural traditions and influences. Past exhibits have included delicate Asian watercolors and large bold original oil canvases. The MRC also features a glass display case featuring a changing exhibit of cultural artifacts and art objects.
