Student Support & Advocacy

The Office of Multicultural Affairs serves as advisor to many of the student organizations on campus with a focus on multiculturalism and diversity. This support ranges from financial assistance for programming and special projects and promotions to counseling and advising on issues the group faces on the UNCG campus. Groups outside the direct advising realm can also request support from the Office by contacting the Director or Assistant Director.

Student Organizations Advised by OMA

  • Neo-Black Society (NBS)
  • Native American Student Association (NASA)
  • Spanish-American/Latino Student Association (SALSA)
  • UNCG Chapter of NAACP
  • Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.

Jeffrey Coleman recently accepted the award for “College Chapter Advisor of the Year” at the 64th annual convention of the NCNAACP Youth & College Division. And congratulations to Katrina McClain, recipient of the 2007 Monarch Award for Faculty Advisor Contributions, presented on September 8, 2007, at the annual national Theta Nu Xi Convention.
